Nebraska Irrigated Seeds is growing in more ways than one.  The company, with facilities in Nickerson, near North Bend and two plants on Somers Avenue in Fremont, has increased production on seed corn and seed beans by 250 percent since selling Fontanelle Hybrids to Monsanto in 2005.

At that time, David and Sheila Monke bought out their partners, retained equipment that had not been sold to Monsanto, and re-established the former Fontanelle Hybrids as Nebraska Irrigated Seed.....
